My surprise commissions are back and for the first time I’m offering them in my Everyday Occurrence series of work. Everyday Occurrences are my monochrome series of paintings within vintage and antique frames. Yes, the frame is included.

Here’s how it works:

You get to select your background color and your subject matter, via a form that appears when you add this listing to your cart. This listing is for a large sized painting, around 16”x20” total exterior dimension. Since found frames are of inconsistent sizing, this is approximate only and your frame may be slightly smaller or larger.

You * don’t * get to select your frame, frame shape, or your composition.

Only when your painting is finished and ready to ship will you I send over a photo for to take a peek!

A few things to note:

1. I’m not accepting notes and requests beyond the information in this form. Regular commissions which accommodate all of your requests can be found here.

2. These paintings will be completed in February 2026.

3. All paintings are oil on panel, hung in a vintage frame which may include signs of age and wear: chipped gesso/missing gesso, cracks, warps, loose joints, imperfections, etc.

4. Please remember that I source only vintage frames which may be imperfect and feature chipped or missing gesso, cracks, loose joints, etc.

5. All sales final.
